haha yes. Ok let me explain it this way. You can make something sound much better than what it is by playing around with umbers. I'll use an example.
Let's say you are reading a bottle oon a soda and it says 1 out of every 10 people will win an award. That sounds goo right? Now how does 10 out of 100 sounds? how abound 100 out of 1000? or 1000 out of 10,000. Now 10,000 out of 100,000. That number is sounds worst with higher numbers than lower numbers.
In this case it does in fact have 8gb but not all of those gb's are for dedicated memory which is what people are not realizing. If they said that the OS has 2Gb and the GPU has 2GB and the RAM has 4GB it suddenly sounds worst right? but instead they lumped it together (Which is true still) and suddenly that number appears higher than what it actually is for games.
THis comes down to a difference of gamers and developers. Gamers who dont realize this gets excited due to the high number. Developers also get excited but not for the same reason, they can play around with those numbers and they actually know what it means, where as you the gamer really doesnt.
This is why i said it was a beautiful PR move and it obviously was or else it wouldnt be all over forumes right now ;)
