From what I can gather Sony won't back down; they're making a last stand. If this goes to shit it's all over, so they're banking on the PS4 to be a success. MS will have to pull something amazing out of their slevees if they wanna give SOny a run for their money...

Only because they have to. If they don't win they're exiting the market.

Seems a little extreme considering their videogame division is one of the few profitable parts of the company right?

And that's why they're banking on the success of PS4...
