Photo realism my ass. Nothing shown was photo realistic. Yeah we saw some nice tech demo's but that's exactly what they are. Actual games will never be able to achieve that due to being far more complex and resource hungry. Also cut scenes will always best gameplay graphics for obvious reasons.
One more thing. The PS4 hardware is good but it ain't that good compared to current mid-top of the line PC. This is the first time this has happened in recent memory. When the 360 and PS3 were released their CPU and GPU were state of the art. Not so in this case. The Jaguar CPU is a low power consumption laptop processor and the graphics card is a mid range Southern Bridge AMD GPU. The one thing (kinda) state of the art about it is the GDDR5 RAM. That was a very smart move and kudos to Sony for that even if GDDR5 has high latency issues.
It's all very well and good going for realistic graphics but what about frame rate? I was dismayed to see Killzone running at 30fps and even then dropping frames. I thought we were going to get 60fps as standard but seems like resolution will be more important and the hardware just isn't powerful enough to get games like Killzone SF running at high resolutions (seems like 1080p in this case) and 60fps.
