Gaming - 2012 Aggie Awards - View Post

No surprise that TWD got most awards. Many people and reviewers absolutely love this well-done pressbuttonnowandimagineyourchoicewillmakeadifferencegame for reasons I'll never understand. For the 2nd time (after Heavy Rain) we were told now by gaming media (not the one in the OP, they know their stuff) that an interactive movie resurrected a genre that was never dead.

Good to see that Deponia, The Dark Eye, Resonance, Botanicula, Cognition and Primordia also got a few of those many awards - 18 from staff, 18 from readers, plus 6 honorary. Lost Chronicles of Zerzura would have deserved one as well imo but afaik it was a flop even for low adv standards (I blame the incredibly ugly boxart for an otherwise beautiful game).

2012 was a good year for classic adventure games. 2013 and beyond will at least theoretically be even better with the return of many famous adventure game franchises and/or developers.
