In terms of specs there's no reason why PC gamers should be excited about the PS4. We PC owners can change our hardware whenever we feel it's time to, obviously you can't do that with the PS4, so that's one of the biggest disadvantage the system (or any other console for that matter) has compare to PC.

There's also Steam, I for one would never get away from it. The deals there are simple amazing and not even the PSN+ can match it. And it's one of the best alternatives for gamers who live in countries where games are simple too expensive (this is THE reason why I decided to start gaming on PC, and I know dozens of people who do the same in my country) and that market is pretty much impossible to take away.

Overall I don't see why a PC enthusiastic should be "excited" about the PS4 unless you really like Sony exclusive games. If Sony's real goal is to gather the PC gamers, then they will fail trying to it imo.

Sony will still be competing against MS and Nintendo, not Valve.

Edit: Am I the only one who thinks Sony fans are using the 8GB thing as the next Cell? It's kinda stupid imo.
