I agree with a lot of what you stated. I myself fell for the apparently low cost and amazing multiplayer experience when in reality the 360 ended costing much more than the PS3, and I missed out on a ton of great exclusives in the long run. That said, the 360 wasn't all bad. It started off with good exclusives but over time MS just dropped it all for these stupid timed exclusivities and kinect. I hated those because I'd much rather have strong 1st party exclusives.

Next gen I am going with Sony since they have more REAL exclusives. They seemed to be toning down on the motion control gimmick and bringing good experiences. Online MP is free (which for me is HUGE as I see no reason to pay for it with MS when i can get it for free). PS Plus offers actual value with full retail games. And in general PS seems to be the brand that cares about the gamers, as opposed to just constantly trying to capture the casuals, which there is nothing wrong with, but MS are overdoing it in the expense of the gamers. I'll of course see what MS is bringing to the table before going with one, but if they continue the way they have been going, then Sony is the obvious choice.
