Microsoft always releases its products before they're ready.
Just to mention a few: Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Xbox, X360 and now Windows 8.
I don't see how anyone was surprised that the X360 was such a bag of scum when it came out, it was hardware that wasn't ready. They fixed it later.
Same with Windows 8. Except that they're still fixing it. It's like a public beta you participate in but you have to pay 120 bucks for it. Hilarious...
