I completely disagree there, especially if you mod.

I don't follow pc gaming so I don't know what mods are capable of doing. Personally, the way I view it pc gaming with pc building and modding is a hobby in itself as opposed to console gaming where all that matters is the gaming experience.

Ah, but that's just it, on PC, modding is also part of the gaming experience. Sometimes, it IS the experience.

But his point is that modding isn't gaming.

Day-Z, Counter-Strike, Cry of Fear and other games, born from moderations, might like to have a word with you.

I played CS on the PC and I didn't have to mod anything - I just downloaded an executable, installed and played it. No modding needed.

The point was you were able to play the game that was born out of modifications. You don't have to do any modding to play CS.

And my point still stands - you're not gaming when you're building a mod. Just like you're not gaming when you're developing a game. But to each his own - I'm only into gaming for the gaming, in other words - to play games.
