MS dying is far from the truth. However the world is changing and there are tough times ahead.

The biggest treat facing MS and more so Windows is that many emerging economies do not want to rely on a foreign country providing the base of their private and public IT infrastructure.

India, China, Russia and other Asian and S.American countries realizes the problems that are associated with depending on a foreign country to provide such a vital service and are actively seeking to produce and market their own OSes. In other words these countries want their very own "Windows" for their people.  The financial gains will also benefit these countries rather than go to America.

Their was a meeting last year between certain world organizations outside of N.America to discuss this.

For so long many people (and I have read many of the comments on this forum) thought that MS can just buy success no matter what market they choose to venture in. They cannot.

Yes, MS is alive and kicking but the world is not what it once was.
