Look at Kirby's Adventure vs F Zero. Star Fox 2 vs Mario 64. Donkey Kong 64 vs Sonic Adventure. Final Fantasy XII vs Project Gotham Racing 3. Halo 4 vs Killzone Shadow Fall.
Now ask yourself this. How many people would believe you if back in 1989 you told them F-Zero was an NES game? I doubt anyone with any knowledge of gaming would buy that. Suppose you told someone prior to the N64 launch that Mario 64 was an SNES game? Again you'd have few takers.
What if you said that Sonic Adventure was running on an N64? I don't think many people would believe you, but you'd have a few gullible souls going. If you told them that PGR3 was running on a PS3? A few more people would probably buy that lie. If you told people that Killzone Shadow Fall was running on a PS3? I think you could fool quite a few people.
The gap between generations has steadily been decreasing. At this point the line is pretty blurry. Generational leap is a silly buzzword. The bottom line is the difference in graphics is lesser than what we've seen in the past. Whether or not you think this upgrade in power is sufficient is up to you.
