2gb sounds quite reasonable. It'll probably use quite a bit less then that at launch, but 4yrs from now that 2gb may very well be put to full use.

I think totally the opposite... at first Sony will use ~1.5GB for all the OS tasks but in the end after otmizations the Sony will use less than 1GB for the same tasks and a little more. Sony will reserves at launch 2GB for the OS and 6GB for the games... in the future I can see 1GB for the OS and 7GB for the games.

MS did the same with 360 and Sony with PS3.

They will optimize the OS to give even more RAM to games.
