People are raging on MS because of the rumors that Kinect is mandatory but I don't see anyone raging at Sony for having the Eye mandatory, people will have a hard time justifying their opinions if they only complain on one manufacturer.

Thing is, I just don't see pseye being included. That's not SonyStyle (tm).

Well you may not think so but a lot of people do right now including me as seeing the Conference they made a big deal about the different colours on the DS4 light thingy and other things. Sure it may be possible to play without the colours but why make such a big thing of something that little minority will use? That in itself doesn't make sense.

As for Kinect we will just have to wait and see if it is a way to extend the life and the experience of the new "720" like they did with the 360 or if it will be mandatory. For the hardcore gamer it sure didn't do much but it did for the kids and casual gamers who started playing Dance Central or Sesame Street or whatever.
