In my opinion, people don't know it is a new console. Nintendo's main market is the casual market, they're not as informed as people on forums an sites like these. They must think either it is just a new tablet controller for the Wii that's way overpriced or have no idea that it exists at all. The core Ninty fans did know and that's why it had such a good launch, a launch better than the 360 and the ps3. A launch that is near that of the near 100,000,000 seller, the Wii.
It wil eventually gain traction though and they'll wake up.
