If we're looking at this as a whole, and not just small pieces of each companies overall business then I'd say Sony is not even a blip on Microsoft's radar. Apple is the end goal for MS, but to get there they have to take out Google first, so right now MS biggest competitor and the one they care about beating most is Google. These 2 companies already despise each other far more than MS or Sony dislike one another.

Google has began playing dirty already as well. They refuse to put any of their apps on Windows Phone, so there is no official Gmail app or Youtube app for Windows phone. There is no Google Maps either, and in fact Google sabotaged WP8 about a month ago by blocking access to their maps even through IE on WP8. They claimed it was an accident and took a good 2 weeks to "fix" it. More recently Google announced that they are changing something in regards to Gmail (active exchange or something I believe) so that WP8 users who use gmail won't be able to sync their contacts or calendar.

Google makes billions from their search engine and MS has encroached on that territory with Bing. MS makes billions from office software which Google has now gotten into that. Both of them are trying to catch apple in the mobile world. Believe me, if you asked MS which company they'd rather see fail between Sony and Google they would not even have to think about it.
