I just know Fraps uncompressed files are huge.  Talking +35G's for my 1080p 30fps 10 min WoW videos, compressed tho we talkin barely 1 GB tho.

Yes they are, cause Fraps needs to encode in real time on CPU - and they are not very good at that. If you have dedicated hardware for real-time encoding, files we'll be much smaller, and you don't stress CPU.

I guess a  i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz isn't enough then cause if I try and push beyond 30 fps 1080p I get a noticeable drop in performance while playing.
