I suppose it does drive down perception of the console if people believed that it was that price baseline (which it obviously wouldn't be). More pressure on them to have a good launch, with a continuous stream of games after launch to keep people busy with. Seeing how both Vita & Wii-U have completely failed on this front recently, it's not looking promising. Personally, doesn't bother me. I have a PS2, PS3, Gamecube & Wii set up in my room at the minute. I have space for another. But I can see why it would be a turn off for some. |
yeah I wouldn't have transfered all my stuff over to PS4 anyway unless it had had BC with my discs too. Now that I know it won't (unless they come out with some add-on) I'll keep my PS3 in some other room or in the corner (forever alone) and go back to it if I ever get a hankering for some retro gaming considering I have all my PS1, PS2, and PS3 games on it digitally or through HD collections.
