The inference being that the 360 would lack longevity. He said this in 2009. Moronic statements by a man of his intelligence. |
Any in many ways he wasn't far from the truth. 2009 was before Kinect launched. If MS had not shifted direction the 360 would have likely seen a decline similar to the Wii and would have launched their successor by now. If Kaz were to infer that MS would shift direction at that time he would have been making a baseless speculation since traditionally consoles have never been rejuvenated mid-cycle (and it took one hell of a push on MS's part to accomplish that).
Furthermore, the 360 has seen much less support in these last few years outside of Kinect. Looking at MS's release schedule for their biggest games and sales drying up as a whole, the majority of this site expected MS to transition to the next gen first. MS has already made the decision to start letting the 360 go they just didn't move on to new hardware. PS3 on the other hand has had two of it's biggest years support wise leading up to the PS4 with revamped PS+ and many of it's biggest titles launching the same year as the PS4.
How do you breathe again?
