Can anyone explain to me why people are obsessed with how the PS4 looks like?

This is a console reveal. You need to show the console. It's a psychological thing: We need to see the box that will power the games and experiences the PS4 offers. Otherwise, the PS4 will feel incredibly abstract. It won't feel real.

Sorry but when did they say it was the reveal of the PS4? All I got was "PlayStation Meeting".

lol please do not play that card. Everybody expected a PS4 conference. Talking about Vita so they can legally say "PS Meeting" is just dodging the issue.

And did we not get a PS4 heavy conference. An hour and a half talking about the PS4. I guess because they didn't show the console itself discards everything else that was shown during the conference, correct? Hilarity at it's finest my friend.

If this is a non issue, then its funny since I see a ton of Sony fans on damage control, insisting its not a big deal. Well clearly a lot more people seem to disagree.

The reason I asked the question is exactly this reason because to me its a very bad way of perceiving things. Just because Kotaku says so it doesn't mean we should all blindly follow their way of thinking. The look of a console isn't the most important thing, but rather it is what it does. Kind of like a person actually. You want to ideally stay with a person long term who has a nice and kind attitude who looks okay rather than a person who is smoking hot but has a horrible personality.

The PS4 is just a PC. It was from the beginning, it is now and it will always be. And if you have ever seen a PC, you have seen a PS4. They'll just put some custom made chassis on it.

I happen to agree with it. Seems many fans such as yourself take issue with that. And people will continue to think that regardless of how many fans do damage control.

The conference ended on a down note. To have something tangible shows that you have your act together, thats its not all buzz words and empty promises...sorry if you disagree but both arguments have merit.
