Sounds to me like they didn't have any problems until WoW was introduced into the relationship. I don't think there has to be any bigger problems, and I doubt that he chose WoW over her because it sucked hanging out with her. Sounds like he just got addicted. As a prior addict/alcoholic I can tell you, no matter how much you love someone and want to be with them, and no matter if your relationship is wonderful and you love spending time with eachother, your addiction will always win out, that is why it is called an addiction. You can't get enough of it.
Now I agree, the game isn't to be blamed, because tons of people play it and have no problems walking away. Those who already have predispositions to addiction, or have addictive personalities, are in for some trouble.
I have to disagree with there being a bigger problem that caused his harmful choices of gameplay over girlplay. There marriage was probably perfect, to an extent (everyone has their own problems every now and then), and then when WoW was introduced, the shit hit the fan fast, and everything went downhill fast like the Titanic.
