Yes and unneccessary. Although it sounds really nice and it is an enthusiast's dream, the price will be unnecessarily inflated with not that big of a jump in performance since the GPU and CPU are frankly just average.

Well based on their early decisions with the ps3, the ps vita, their poor marketing I would consider Sony to be somewhat "stupid."  If Sony wants to launch at $400-$500 and have 8gb GDDR5 and not lose $200-$300 on each unit sold then it will have an average CPU/GPU. They will probably go with the rumored 8 core amd and a 7850 equivalent.
