Aside from some pretty complex looking dust and particle effects and detailed specularity, I didn't see in game footage in that presentation that I felt even the PS3 couldn't handle, let alone the Wii U. So I have a feeling games will be easier to port to Wii U this time. Now whether or not that actually translates to better third party support for Nintendo, that is doubtful. But cross platform should at least be a more viable option this time than last gen. |
This is exactly right! As generations progress, a VISUAL improvement would require a much higer exponential in improvement than what technology can do. Finer improvements become less discernable to the eye, and look like only minor improvements compared to the effort needed to generate them.
On a lighter note, how many wrinkly old guys did we need to see in the graphics demos?
