The beginning said it all. Its all out war. This is console Armageddon, only one of MS/Sony will remain after this gen (nintendo will always be around).
Sony was arrogant after PS2, but now understand they are dealing with a real monster in MS, who stole half their user-base. They basically announced a gaming HTPC, which I presume they want to be always on, as the ultimate entertainment solution. It will be costly no doubt, ($500+) but as long as its marketed correctly to show its value, it can succeed not just for gamers, but all tech enthusiasts.
MS will be right there to compete for the high end, but I suspect Nintendo will troll again with their far cheaper console, when reality sets in for parents as they shop. Having PS360 still on the market, could hurt all the next gen offerings as well, like we saw with Wii U, so it'll be interesting to see how long those get supported.
