I would suggest bringing things to stock and then upping everything 1 by 1, starting with CPU. You shouldn't have to add much voltage (if any) to get to 3 Ghz, unless you want to go more. Once you are happy with your CPU overclock, move on to memory...and take note when the Pc starts failing.

Also install core temp or similar and measure your CPU temperature.
