there has only been one main metal gear solid game that was exclusive to Sony to my knowledge and that was 4.  Unless you consider the psp games main games...

Are you sure?  From my knowledge, Metal Gear has been synonymous with Playstation for years. Sure, the games have made their way to other platforms recently but those are very very late ports.

well, metal gear solid 2 came out on the original xbox.  Metal gear solid 1 was remade for gamecube.  Then there is the 3ds version of 3 as well as the hd collection on 360.  I'll give you the latter two are pretty late, but still, every numbered entry besides 4 are available on other systems.
