Here's the deal; lot's of people like to express their discontent about Versus talking a long time by taking it out on a supposed troubled development which translates into Square's incompetence. Aren't I right ? But the reality is Square f*cked up with XIV not Versus.

Versus is a 6 year old tease but it's not late if they never intended to release it before XIII-2 or type-0 or KH HD or XIV PS3 version in the first place.

As XII was being finished Versus was in development this was confirmed by SE themselves as both Versus and XII were PS2 games at first, well done genius SE messed up XIV now explain what was happening before XIV launched as it was after it that members were pulled, that gives them around 5 years from when XIV was still Rapture. Congratulations on giving the biggest strawman argument in history with Versus not being late if they never intended it to be release before 3 games that weren't even in development or concept stage when it was, so your argument is that they intended to miss the whole gen after skipping the end of the previous one keep grasping that straw.

The other part of your argument makes SE look even more imcompetent then even the critics do, they had the games lined up but prioritsed games they possibly hadn't started development on as far as we know? SE has released around 8-10 games with even the 3rd XIII game on the way of these games Verusus was know about before most of them an example is
