So someone asked the author on Twitter and he seems to have actual sources and have some idea of what he's talking about. They were talking about the local price in the UK and not a convertion, so it would really be the same price as the premium WiiU.

@cheapstare My guess is they'll take the tax hit to get it at a more reasonable price in Europe. But that's pure speculation on my part
