| Jay520 said: Pretty useless term if you ask me. If you want to talk about a big budget game, then say "big budget." AAA is an informal term with no definitive, objective definition. There's no point in using such an ambiguous word when you have much easier and straightforward alternatives. |
I expect more out of you Jay. You are by far one of the most intelligent posters on here and then say that AAA is not straight forward? It means high budget. Not sure how that isnt straight forward. This is something that businesses use. The only reason we as gamers get excited about AAA games is because they are usually of high quality which is why many people have the misconception it has to deal with ratings. For example Crysis2 is a AAA game but failed to deliver to gamers.
AAA goes with other things like how many studens go to a specific school. AAA would be a school with a high populated school and then you have AA schools etc. Isn't that straight forward as well? Yes.
To say it is useless is strange coming from you though. It's a business term and it shocks me how little people know how businesses work.
It's just like any word in the dictionary or slang terms. They are not always straightforward but has a definitive meaning
