Well at GAF they're saying they know less now then when they started from reading the very link you provided you can't really say the GPU performance numbers are official as no one really confirms it but merely speculates it and considering it's a unique propriety of some sort it makes speculating on it even harder and on the CPU a user called krizzx points out that points from a few people keep contradicting and that certains things on the U's CPU can't be achieved on the architecture Broadway (Wii CPU) utilizes which puts a bit of doubt on the U actually being from the same family and architecture.
Some has yet to really reply to these and probably will soon enough but it harps back to the point that it's not fully confirmed like you said, not having a go by the way just pointing it out.
