When you've got nothing ready to show and your most direct competitor is about to announce their new flagship console for the next six years, you'd want to be out there at least making some noise. Otherwise Sony get's all news from the cycle instead of attention being divided up.
Microsoft will get their day in the sun sometime soon, and when that happens you can be sure Sony and Nintendo will be doing things to divert attention.
The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.
