I don't see how you can compare the two. If a team plays two games and goes into OT both of them and looses they will have 2 points. The same amount of points a team who wins one and looses one has... we wouldn't consider that team to have 2 loses would we?


It's still a loss though. If one team won than the other team lost. 



Not according to the NHL. To them its OT 1


When you go to NHL.com, go to standings then hover over the letters "OT" a pop-up will come up saying Overtime LOSSES
