To the OP, you are just being foolish.

We call a facial tissue a Kleenex, even though that's not technically correct, it is just what became popular in our culture (in Merkuh that is). Similarly, Playstation was referred to as PSX, by EVERYONE when it was out. Magazines, on TV, in game stores, and even on the fledgling internet. You can't just re-write history, this is what everyone called it, and guess what, it stays. Just like most of us old heads would have called NES "a Nintendo" back in the day, so do we say PSX. It was ours, we were there, and you obviously weren't. That is OK, and you can call the PSX the Playstation, or the PS1 or whatever you want, I don't really care. But I was there in its heyday and I am calling it a PSX because this in-betweener console you speak of is irrelevant.

This topic is finished, and the OP is wrong. OLD FUCKING PEOPLE FOR THE WIN.
