Those are all gimmicks. The original Kinect already offers much of that functionality. 

Kinect 2.0 is just that, Kinect 2.0. A better version of the Kinect you already have. Now, if you loved the Kinect, you'll probably love Kinect 2.0. If you didn't like the first one, you won't like the new one either. 

By that reasoning, a hardware sequel to anything should only sell equal or less than it's predecessor...

If anything, its used as a effortless media controller with its gestures and voice commands, especially with finding exactly what you want in the marketplace. Video chat is available too.Stop thinking kinect as a games peripheral first, its meant to further the media hub agenda first

As for games, there is the illumation thingy with the room, which looks cool. Otherwise, who cares if its needed to be plugged in for the console to work.....just plug it in and be quiet about it.

As for Kinect and Xbox 720, I said before and I'll say it again. Force-bundling is the worst thing Microsoft could do. PEOPLE NEED TO HAVE THE RIGHT TO PICK WHAT THEY WANT. You think games like Halo and Modern Warfare 4 will use Kinect beyond some gimmicky voice commands? I don't. Is that worth the additional $50-$100 Microsoft is forcing people to pay? I say let people decide, do a Kinect bundle and one without. This can only help sales.

About the system not being able to work unless kinect is plugged in.......you realize how stupid that is? What if someone breaks it? What if someone doesn't have room for it? What if someone simply doesn't want a camera spying on them? Your loyalty is blinding you. If these rumors turn out to be true then I will lose whatever respect I had for Microsoft.

Having Kinect with every Xbox sold creates a unified install base, same with including a standard harddrive with every Xbox, 360 having that problem this gen.

Look man, playing the "We need a choice" card is BS. Its hippie mentality and frankly it doesn't effect the games that will be made, both 1st and 3rd party. Hey if your not social enough in the real world to warrant using a Kinect, that thats your problem, not MS's.
