Japanese manga is often very stylistic.  They're not aiming for real proportions, not usually.  Read a manga geared toward girls, for example, and the guys will be stick figures with impossibly long legs.  The point is to emphasis the most appealing aspects.  It's not intended to be taken as a literal representation of the human body.  Much of Japanese fantasy follows the same path, with insane costumes and hair-styles, and of course, crazy powers that come nowhere near to making any sense at all.  It's like mecha, it makes no sense, but it's kind of fun.

Also, I still own every console I've ever bought.  I really don't need the PS4 to be backwards compatible, especially if it's going to be more expensive. It's an incentive for new Sony console owners, though.
