It's included. It's not a matter of what you want or not. If you buy a car and it includes an automatic transmission are you really upset that your car didn't come with a manual transmission? Sure, a manual transmission is more fun, but you can drink a cup of coffee with an automatic. I don't think Kinect being included in the next generation is really that big of a deal because I think technically the price of it is completely subsidized with Illumiroom. Microsoft wants every next gen to include Kinect 2.0 because it wants every next gen console to be able to support Illumiroom when it's released. If you don't have Kinect, then you won't have a feature you absolutely need with Illumiroom. Considering Illumiroom will be as expensive if not more than the next gen console itself, I'm guessing having one more obstacle to adoption for Illumiroom (having to buy Kinect) would be prohibitive. There is no aversion to including Kinect with the next Xbox. It doesn't diminish the value of the console or its functionality. Its inclusion only adds value. |
So that $50-$100 Kinect 2 adds to the Xbox 720 is to ensure they can get more of your money in a few years with illumiroom? Yeah, I'm sure that makes everyone feel much much better about the issue.
