I am seeing these as trends appearing, and seeing they are doing what they can to try to maximize profits, and not for the gain of customers. Just curious if you feel any of these will deter you, and also what else they would do to get you to say "no more" and not get a next generation console:
* Eliminate the ability to do services like Gamefly, and videogame rentals.
* Eliminate the ability to buy and sell used games, so anyone owning new has to buy a game new, and gets nothing for it done, to get new content.
* Make it so you have to be hooked up to the Internet in order to play.
* Eliminate backwards compatibility, requiring you to puchase the same titles again you have enjoyed, in order to play them.
* Keep pumping out FPS, and reducing the number of genres available, and not coming out with any new genres of interest.
* Have almost every single major release be a sequel.
* Make you spend another $50 or more on DLC, Season Passes, etc... to be able to get decent game length out of a title. Included with this is doing what Capcom had done and have the content already on the disk, and you pay to unlock it.
* Up the price for new titles by $10 or more (as a norm), in addition to the DLC mentioned.
* Charge over $599 for a new game console, AND also charge a monthly subscription fee, ON TOP OF, what you already pay now for Internet service, in order to be able to be able to play anything, INCLUDING single player experiences.
* Increase the number of disruptive bugs in the game.
* ONLY improve the graphics, while keeping the gameply the same as it is now, complete with dumb AIs.
* Reduce the length of single player campaigns and make them more cinematic, while making them nothing more than just versions of Dragon's Lair.
* Make it so the bulk of the games end up only really being enjoyable multiplayer, so you have to go online and play with strangers to really get remotely your money's worth out of it?
Did I miss any other discussed here, which would deter, you see can happening? Or are things such, you can never say enough, and just walk away and play what you have still?
