I think the problem was that Colonial Marines was build around the co-op campaign, so they were being lazy and just used the console textures, effects etc. for the PC version. Even on consoles it looks like an early PS3 or 360 game. It worked for Borderlands though since that has a completely different art style, but they definitely gave the PC version some extra eye-candy.


They could have made it as an expansion to AVP 2010 and it would be 10x better with 1/2 the work done already.

They dont. Development proccess of A:CM actually started before AVP 2010.
