A quick calc I run shows that the patch should be downloaded in about 8 minutes with the connection speed you gave.

33Mb/s=33/8=4.125MB/s (megabytes per second)
1942/4.125=470.79 seconds
470.79/60=7.846 minutes

So overall it should take about 8 minutes given that your connection remains atabout  the consistent speed you mentioned. Even if that wasn't the case and it ran at half the speed on average than the one you showed, it should only really take up to 15 minutes. I can say this is the case personally for me because I have the same internet speed (about 32 Mb/s) as yours and whenever I download something from Live that is about 2 GB, it takes about 10-15 minutes. You need to get your internet checked up bro or something else is going horribly wrong, maybe the PSN servers (but you said other PSN stuff didn't take so long and I download stuff on PS3 myself). Plus I don't know how you can have data limit on such a fast connection. Normally such a broadband would come with unlimited data since I imagine you probably pay good money for it.

Anyway, large patches are pretty much part of the online games now. Mostly because besides the actual fixes they tend to make you download all the latest maps/game modes/guns through the patches and they just unlock them on your system once you buy them. I am not defending Dice or EA (I don't particularly like EA myself) and neither do I play BF3. That's just how it goes nowadays.
