I don't use Metacritic because that site uses shit publications, weighted averages and round up to whole numbers instead of using 2 decimal places which is far more accurate.

The last 3 God of War games by Sony Santa Monica scored over 90% with ease, God of War: Ascension will be the best in the series yet and will score between 91-95%. Even the God of War Collection almost reached 91% so why the hell do people think this game won't? Why would critics suddenly go from singing praises to trolling the franchise?
Why are people making up excuses for why critics will score it considerably less? Most of you ill-informed people saying 'they'll score it less because it hasn't changed significantly' or 'It has MP and everyone will hate it' just don't have a clue. The single player campaign alone has more new features than the latest games in the Uncharted, Halo, Gears of War, Zelda etc. franchises have from their first games. The majority of the critics will recognise this and see that everything from the graphics, animation, sound, story to gameplay has clearly been improved so they will have no reason to complain. Also it's releasing 3 years after GoW3 so that's plenty of time to un-familiarise with that game and go into God of War: Ascension with a fresh perspective.
As for the MP component, the general consensus after the beta was extremely favourable, the final games multiplayer will be a lot better so again, why would critics complain about a genre defining multiplayer component that adds tons of value to the game? Also a lot of great single player games with crap MP components still received critical acclaim so even if they managed to somehow (impossibly) make the final games MP significantly worse than the beta it would still be acclaimed for the singleplayer.
I'm not sure if people are just pessimistic, ill-informed or just wishing for the game to not be yet another critically acclaimed addition to the franchise, whatever the reason there's no way this one won't average at least 90%+. I think it has a good chance at topping GoW3 thus becoming the highest rated game in the genre this generation.
