Last week I bought a Wii U, because Amazon.de was selling the Premium Set for €310. Naturally, I bought NSMBU along with it.

The first thing I did after setting the system up was playing NSMBU. I did this before downloading the day 1 system update like any real gamer would. I was pleasantly surprised by the opening cinematic, because unlike in the other NSMB games, this time around Peach's Castle would be the goal instead of the starting point. I also liked the look of the continuous world map which reminded me of Super Mario World.

It took me a couple of days to finish the game, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I played all the levels to get to Peach's Castle, kicked Bowser's butt and saved Princess Peach. But...

I kinda knew that this would be how the game ends. It left me wondering why I was playing the game when I knew the outcome of the story. What was the point? What was the damn point?

Did anybody else feel let down by the game's story?

The gameplay? Was the game not enjoyable? Did you not feel a sense of accomplishment when you beat the game?
