As said before the smallpox did a genocide, not the spanish (eventhough they wheren't always nice to the natives). A big part of the native South Americans are still living in South America, but most of them speak partially spanish/portoguese. What happened to South America would have happened anyway because then because of the Europeans who come claimed the land in North America just took all the land of the natives overthere!! I would rather think about: How would the USA look like if the europeans never shown interest to come to North America.
