Why not just plug it in? It wont do anything if you dont need it, and its there for when you need to navigate the media/marketplace content. PC has had mandatory game installations for years and years. And since when has controllers worked on the next generation, aside from Nintendo? I doubt Sony will allow PS3 controllers to work on the PS4.....since thats a ton of missed revenue.

PS3 controllers will work with PS4, that's been confirmed in one of the rumors. They use Bluetooth technology so you can thank Sony for that.

About Kinect, if someone doesn't want it, they shouldn't be forced to pay for it, let alone plug it in and use it. It's ridiculous.
