First of all, that guy is annoying. What's with all the half-ass, convoluted metaphors? He's like a dinosaur that forgot his lunch-box on the crest of a volcano and is barreling headlong up a fiery explosion toward extinction--or something like that.
As for the content--what can be gleaned from the stream of embellishments, anyway--he never gives anything at all to support his position. I guess he's saying that FPS popularity will go down eventually? Probably, though I doubt it will crash anytime soon. My guess is that it will be a gradual decline. What does he want Microsoft, EA, and Activision to do in the meantime? Stop making FPS titles? How does that make sense?
If anything, EA and Activision are using the money from their most popular franchises to move into other markets. Who doesn't make iOS games nowadays, for example? All the big publishers are constantly trying to find the next big hit.
I'm really not sure what his point it. Markets go up and down, everyone knows that. The people in the video-game industry know that. I think even my cat knows that.
