i wonder if there is a statistic about killed people in houses with weapons and without weapons where a burglar broke in. because my theory is:

if a burglar breaks in your house the chance is very low that he will kill you if you won't shoot on him and if you have no weapon. if you have a weapon, chance is much higher that he will kill you or you him but that's like 50:50.

i would think most burglars aren't killers as long as you won't try to kill them.

but yeah, just a theory^^ at least here in germany criminals have also weapons (that's what americans always say why it's doesn't help to forbid weapons, criminals will still have them) but it's not as if many people get killed here from burglars. most of the time they will do nothing or maybe punsh you in the face which shouldn't be the problem. but if i would try to shoot on them i think they wouldn't be so "nice" anymore.

Actually most burglars tend to avoid the situation if they think you have a weapon... or could have a weapon.  Most criminals in the US wouldn't of broken in because of well... this exact situation.  This guy was just stupid.

The amount of robberies where people are home are actually VERY rare in the US.   They work a lot like security systems as far as preventive measures go.
