From what Sony said, the price isn't dropping too soon, but it could be just PR talk. After all, they wouldn't want Vita sales to drop even further due to people holding out for a price cut.
If you manage to find a really good bundle though, it should offset some of the bad feeling of seeing a price cut after you purchase.
