I personally would prefer backwards compatibility but I can also see the reason why it's not necessary. For me, I just don't want too many consoles connected and cluttering my living room.
Correct me if im wrong, but was it Playstation that started bring backwards compatibility? (From PS1 to PS2). Looking at the history of consoles maybe it was them that spoiled us with that feature. It's all because of the disc! We never had this problem when Nintendo and Sega had cartridges lol
