Gamecube was developer friendly hardware, it did't work, bestselling game of 6th generation GTA 3 was never released on Gamecube, and there was no reason why not, even modern version on ios is around 500MB (with better textures).
It was even never released on Wii with it's huge install base, so this mentality Nintendo for Nintendo games is not unfounded, it was actually created by 3rd parties
