And you are misunderstanding the development difficulty thing. It's actually implied that MS's console would be easier to develop for. A higher level API is much easier on devs, but it does make it harder to make full use of the hardware as a higher level API means more abstraction. Not that I actually believe that MS would lock out "to the metal" coding and force everything through a high level API, surely they learnt their lessen with the OG XBOX on that as they quickly abandoned that idea back then. |
