Microsoft hates aliens - CONFIRMED. Is there any real reason you can't freely choose the skin color of your ava (like, green, blue or red)? I fully understand that hacking your ava to make it have these colors is a bannable offense, I just don't get what would be so bad about these colors.

It isn't the color.  ::rolls-eyes::

It's the fact that you have to edit your profile via the PC, which is against the TOS.

I have a profile on my USB drive I can't access because it's corrupted, but the only way to repair it is via the PC right now.  So...my saved games are all in limbo until Microsoft comes up with a way to repair my profile.

Yes, I already stated that in my first post. Now for the real question: Is there any particular reason you can't choose those colors when you create your ava to begin with? Are they afraid of six year old kids being scared by unnatural skin colors? I just don't get why they don't make it possible to use the full color spectrum.

Because Microsoft has a stated goal that the Avatar should reflect the gamer.

Ah, ok. As a member from "Why was I Banned?" has nicely put it: "With all these people getting banned for modding the skin color of their avatars Microsoft really might want to add these colors. But it makes for such a good ban trap... - nah."^^

I wonder that too!  Why not make these colours availible - espically since you can buy a carrot suit (as in Major's Nelson's) or one of my furry friends has a little bear suit on - and that does refelct the gamer.

I think people that *loved* Avatar might want blue skin.  But right now, yes it is a ban trapp - because the ONLY way you can have it is through modding.  And it seems often if they have modded that, it isn't the only thing.

I was astonished when I saw an image of an avatar in a full-fledged samurai armor. I wish I could do this with my Miis :/
