Resorting to personal attacks now, huh? You're failing to see a LOT of things wrong about your assumption: 1. The original article was in AUD, so your bullshit about "converting it to USD" would have made no difference to begin with. In fact, it would be adding margin of error in the price of the article. If you really wish to know the price, just Google the damn thing straight to your currency, or don't bother reading it at all. The article states AUD$50. You don't go saying "Well that could mean anything from AUD$60 to AUD$80. It's AUD$50... 2. Unlike games, which are sold everywhere from video shops to the major retail duopoly, the article in question is referring to a Sony-instituted SERVICE, which means there is little to no chance for a variance in cost to this. If you're whinging about variance in prices, make sure it's something that would NOT fall in the category of market based competition. It would be absolute stupidity to do otherwise. I'm going to put this to you again. Nobody's FORCING you to read the article OR make a conversion. If you feel the need to whinge about it, then you really should not even bother reading it. On your statement about having lower prices than the Euro, wow; who HASN'T got lower prices than the Euro. I'll give you an example right now. I bought my WiiU PREMIUM edition console for AUD$279. By your flawed logic, I paid too much, considering the AUD is around parity with the USD. For starters, GST is included in the price, whereas the US price is excluding tax. It's a 10% tax, so divide by 1.1 and you get.....$253.63. What's that? Only $3 above the US RRP? Seems like youe entire rant has been completely pointless and done nothing more than show such an intolerable nature towards an entire nation. |
Personal arguments come from the fact that I write the same stuff a couple of times and you still can't understand it. It makes me start to think there is something wrong with you. And you keep on doing it in this post as well...
1. The difference it would make is that people outside of Australia would know what we're talking about. I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but it's not an Australian forum. I have proven so many times that googling it makes no sense, yet you keep repeating it... I'm out of words. As you have said (and many before you), you have your tax included in the price. People outside of Australia don't know what your tax is and don't really care, are you aware of that? Seems not.
2. It's not really a service. It's a different way to pay for the hardware. This "service" is just means for paying for it and we are yet to see you guys getting the same price for something in this industry. If you think that another crazy hardware price you're probably going to get for PS4 won't influence the price you get in such a deal - dream on.
I wasn't whining. I asked you to use a currency that tells other people something. You guys started whining and acting like I was trying to violate your sovereignity and independence. I have no idea where such inferiority complex comes from and I'm really shocked by your reaction.
To your Wii U price - talk about a flawed logic! I mean, are you even serious? Are you comparing a great offert you found somewhere with the MSRP in another region? That's not even a joke. MSRP in Australia is $429.95, is it not? You think you are the only people in the world who get better deals than MSRP? If you compare something, compare the same things. And you should really get your numbers straight, Wii U Premium costs in US $350, not $250. If you really got a brand new Wii U premium for AU$279, you got one hell of a deal.
To sum up the whole thing - it's pretty much as if you started talking in some Tasmanian language of the Aborigines and when asked to use English went on a rant, started proving that it's a legit and old language and in the end told everyone to use google translator, even if that language isn't included in it. I think it's a matter of respect for other users of an international forum. You took it as a blow to your sovereignity, which I think is just ridiculous.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
