Nintendo's Fiscal goal for WiiU was to have SHIPPED 5,500,000 by the end of March 2013. That should equal out to a 4,500,000 to 5,500,000 of real sales to consumer. (this is what VGC records)

UPDATE BASED ON JANUARY INVESTORS MEETING:
It turns out my most recent prediction was right and Nintendo dropped their Wii U estimates to 4m SHIPPED by the end of March 2013. That should equal about 3m to 3.5m of actaully sold units. We'll keep watching to see how close they actually come. With no games launching until March, its gonna be interesting to see what they do to increase sales.
